Tiffany & Co. Necklace from Mary and Dyer

As a woman, I swear there is nothing better than finding a Tiffany Blue Box with it's little white ribbon arrive at your front door step.  Wait, there is only ONE thing better than that......and that's if the little blue box is a prize I won for FREE!  Here's the deets:

One of new fave fashion blogs, Mary and Dyer, just held their first giveaway for this little baby:

All I had to do was 'Like' them on their Facebook Page (which I would have done anyways)and bam, I was entered to win this fabulous necklace.  I NEVER win anything and I swear I have the worst luck out of anyone I know, so I was not expecting to win this whatsover.  So imagine my shock when I found out on Facebook that I had actually won!

I, of course, wore it the very first day I received it:

So here's a HUGE thank you to Kat from Mary and Dyer for hosting such a wonderful Giveaway Contest.  If you haven't checked out her blog, I suggest you do so immediately:-)  She is always posting her super cute outfits and sharing her beauty advice:

Oh - So excuse the iPhone photo above of my me and my huge melonhead - that pic does my hair no justice, but here it is in extreme close-up:

I get asked on a daily basis how to do this - it's seriously the easiest thing ever, so I will post a tutorial to this very soon!

Thanks again Kat for my necklace - I LOVE IT.

xoxo,
Amanda

Look for Less: Nail Polish

If you stay up to date with current nail polish trends, you will see that metallics are hitting the fall 2011 Runways hard.  Metallics in any color are big, but metallics in metal colors like gold, bronze and  graphite are huge.  I absolutely love this trend but refuse to spend my paycheck for these 'designer' nail polishes.  It's no secret that I have a new fond appreciation for Revlon polish - but when I saw their three new metallic polishes today, it was true love.  For just $3.99 a pop you can have the Runway look but at the Revlon price:

Silver Dollar, Gold Coin & Copper Penny
Now look - you can barely tell the difference between the Revlon shades and the Chanel Metallics below.  The only difference, Chanel polish retails for $25 a pop.  I mean, really??

Quartz, Peridot and Graphite

You can buy all three of the Revlon polishes and still not even come close to what one Chanel polish cost.  Thank you Revlon, I am now forever devoted.

Wedding Dresses by Anthropologie - BHLDN

So I can't mention Wedding Gowns by Vera Wang/David's Bridal without mentioning the new Bridal Collection by Anthropologie for BHLDN.  After all, Anthropologie is my first true love.  Just like Anthro, this new line is for the truly unique, one of a kind girl who wants to "reflect her own unique perspective".  I was a little worried about the pricing on these gowns as Anthro can get quite pricey with specialty items - but these gowns range anywhere from $600 to $4000!  Below is my absolute fave, and only retails for $2400.
And let's not forget about our fabulous bridesmaids...BHLDN has the most adorable dresses to satisfy even the pickiest of your girlfriends.  What's even better is more than half of the bridesmaid collection can be worn again...and again....and again...I can't get enough of this one which retails for only $260:

And at long last this line offers shoes, accessories and jewelry that don't scream cheesy.  How adorable is this necklace?  And at $75 a pop, this can make the most perfect bridesmaid gift.

All in all, I have decided to get married just so I can take advantage of these beautiful, one of a kind pieces and go down in history as the most fashionable bride...ever.

Make sure to check out the entire website at http://www.bhldn.com/index.cfm

I promise it will not disappoint.

Revlon's Perplex - Best New Shade!

Anyone who knows me, knows I am sooooo not a nail-polish person.  I've been wearing the same two colors for as long as I can remember - which by the way, are OPI's 'Linkin Park After Dark' and 'You Don't Know Jacque'.  Linkin Park After Dark is a super dark purple and You Don't Know Jacque is a beigy-gray.  I almost never deviate from these colors, but at one of my recent CVS raids, I stumbled upon Revlon's new color called 'Perplex'.  I heard it's a knock-off of the best selling Chanel Paradoxal.  I was a little skeptical because for some reason nail polishes always look different (for the worse) once they are on my nails.  But I have to say, that this is going to be added to my Top Three Fave Nailpolish list now.  It is a beigy-grayish purple but with just the right amount of purple so it doesn't look childish.
Not to mention, it's like $4 at your local drugstore.  Definitely worth trying.
